SWIFT 40 Sensors Maintenance
119
Transducer Interface
The electronics for your transducer require a minimum amount of maintenance.
Ensure that they remain in good condition by checking the ventilation and
cleaning the fan filter at regular intervals.
Daily Check the transducer interface cooling daily. A cooling fan is located at the back
of the unit. Do not block, obstruct, or reduce the air flow from the fan. Items
placed in front of the fan will restrict the airflow and cause the electronic
components to overheat. Remove any items (such as boxes or spare parts) that
block the cooling fan.
Monthly Inspect the foam air filter located in the front and back of the transducer interface
monthly, or after very 160 hours of operation. Clean the filter if it is dirty.
Depending on the operating environment, you may need to check and clean the
filter more or less frequently. (For example, if there is a significant amount of
dust present, you will want to check the filter as often as once a week. If the air
quality in your lab is very good, you may only have to check the filter once every
two months.)
Clean the filter by vacuuming it. If you cannot remove the dirt, wash the filter in
warm water with a mild detergent. Check the filter for damage and replace it if
necessary (MTS part number 10-087-561).
To remove the filter:
1. Loosen the screws that hold the fan cover in place.
2. Pull off the fan cover and set it aside.
3. Pull out the foam filter.
